I’ve always had an obsession with clothes, and taken pride in my appearance. This has now extended to my two boys. It started out as accidental; picking things that I liked but for them. And now with all the great mini-me duds on offer – we have definitely entered the mummy blogger territory of ‘twinning’.  Mrs. P thinks I may have gone too far, but there’s nothing cooler than a stripy tee on the young and old, or a decent chino and desert boot combo – it just works on all ages.

These are my go to stores for twinning well with my boys.

Muji – Japanese chic at its best, all those classic styles miniaturised. (Available in the UK in the Kings road store) My best buy store for one of the largest selections of stripy T’s in adult or mini. See in store for details.

Cos – minimal Swedish fashion, all the trends of the moment for you and your mini.

Lovely relaxed trouser with pocket detail, your mini can look cool and classic, but always comfortable.

John Lewis – Good quality classics.

John Lewis own brand trainers have been a staple for my mini, check out the Children’s marco riptape tainers in tan leather, for a classic trainer for your little dude.

Zara -The brand that replicas all your favourite designers, also caters brilliantly to your kids.

Camo was a big hitter at the recent men’s shows, check out Zara’s own take on the camo shirt for your little man.

However, the kids are getting to an age where they are starting to disagree with my aesthetic, and it’s not always deemed the best style option for the 5-year-old. I mean my eldest has requested a pair of Crocs! These quite frankly make my eyes bleed (sorry Crocs). So I guess there will be days when we won’t be twinning  – and even though Mrs. P might be pleased she’s not leaving the house with a little army of men mini’s in uniform – she’s not a fan of the Crocs either. It’s definitely a case of out of the pan into the fire methinks.

Since 2008, Tom Ford has been designing James Bonds’ wardrobe, and without a doubt, this has resulted in a smooth silhouette for the modern Bond and has thus given us plenty of wardrobe inspo.

We all love a bit of Bond style – you instantly think of the slick suits and tuxedos. However, I have two kids in tow – so a three-piece and dickie bow seems a tad unnecessary, and an expensive investment when it comes to price-per-wear. Instead, I have found inspiration from the dressed-down Bond. Sunspel is the go-to tee of choice for our action hero. The brand designed a polo shirt, the Riviera Polo, for Daniel Craig’s Bond in Casino Royale. They’ve been making this since the 1950’s (and it does have a bit of Sean Connery about it). It was tailored to Craig’s exact measurements; slimming the fit across the chest and making the arms slightly shorter to flatter Craig’s physique, and to allow for more movement for the action sequences. I would like to say that I need this kind of movement myself – you know for all the action-packed leaping from buildings, and jumping from moving vehicles I do every day – but it’s more the action-packed throwing the kids around the park, that has made this polo my staple wardrobe item.

This iconic British brand was established in 1860 with a revolutionary idea to make simple, everyday clothing from beautiful fabrics. The brand continued with an inspired classic aesthetic but given a modern tweak for excellent wardrobe building blocks for today’s man.

Don’t get distracted just by this one polo though; the whole Sunspel collection should be considered to smarten up your casual game. It was, in fact, the boxer short that first gave this brand notoriety in the 80’s. When their classic white undies, featured on model Nick Kamen when he stripped to wash his 501’s in a laundrette.

Every item in this brand’s catalogue is an investment in easy-to-pull-out, everyday things, so you don’t even need to think about what to wear. Just grab any piece from this brand, and you will still keep that smart but easy tone, with comfort to match. So whether it’s the park, beach or pub you can always keep that slick persona, so your look is neither shaken nor stirred.
